About Rachel

Well, here are the basics: I was born in Cincinnati Ohio. Life has taken me all over – Tennessee, Mississippi, Indiana, Cape Cod, and the entire country from a tour bus, but my home has always been Cincinnati. Following 3 grueling and inspiring years getting my MFA at Ohio University, I spent nearly 6 years in Chicago. But as anyone who is familiar with Cincinnati knows, we have a hard time leaving!

I am fortunate to have an incredibly close knit family. My parents are fantastic, and I have 2 sisters who each have kids, and I take my job as Auntie Rachel *very* seriously. Weekend plans often involve family dinner or outings.

My time in Chicago gave me my muggle job, many great friends, a lot of various theatrical experiences, and an incredibly supportive life partner. Eric and I met and started our lives in Chicago, and then I somehow managed to convince him to follow me to southwest Ohio. I don’t know how, but I do know I am very lucky!

Other random facts, just for fun:
– I love to sleep. No, really… *love* to sleep.
– Lifelong bookworm – a particular fan of fantasy, sci fi, and the occasional romcom.
– Thunderstorms, tea, and a good book = a little slice of heaven.
– Tea. All of the tea please.
– Cooking is a favorite pastime, but I will easily be talked into ordering sushi.
– My two cats are convinced Eric and I are just bigger cats. We haven’t told them otherwise.
